Skill Slots
Developer Commentary
When Black Desert Mobile first launched, each character had a total of 10 skills,
and the combat system was designed so that you could fight effectively using just 8 out of those 10 skills.
Initially, 4-key layout was used, but after receiving feedback that it was difficult to check skill cooldowns,
the 8-Key mode was added so you could view all equipped skills at once.
Later, with the addition of Lv 70 hunting skills and Succession skills, the total number of skills increased to 12.
At that time, some players requested an expansion of skill slots,
but since 8 skills were still sufficient, we kept the system as it was.
Recently, with the addition of two Rabam skills, the total number of skills has reached 14.
If we were to increase the slots from 8 to 10, it could make controls more difficult,
and adjusting the button size could affect the ease of control on mobile devices.
However, since Adventurers who already used all 8 slots would have to give up a skill or constantly switch presets
to use the two Rabam skills, we decided to adjust the position of less frequently used buttons, such as Basic Attack,
to maintain the old layout as much as possible.
Since skill slots are a core part of the UI that all Adventurers use, we plan to avoid increasing the number of skill slots in future updates.
Even if new skills are added, we will design the system so you can enjoy combat using maximum of 10 skill slots.

- Increased the number of skills that can be equipped in skill slots. (8 → 10)
- Increased the number of skills displayed at once in A, B, and Combat Modes. (4 → 5)
- Changed 8-Key Mode to 10-Key Mode.

- Changed the Basic Attack button to the 5th skill button.
ㆍ Moved the Basic Attack button below the Black Spirit Emergency Escape button.
- Added and changed some key bindings in line with the skill slot improvements.
ㆍ Key binding can be used when connecting a gamepad controller or keyboard.
ㆍ Check the [Adventurer's Guide: Game Controller] for more details about key binding.

UI
Developer Commentary
We’ve adjusted the maximum size of the on-screen controller UI to match the expansion of skill slots.
Because the UI elements could overlap if the previous maximum value remained unchanged,
we’ve changed the maximum UI size for Standard A, Standard B, and Combat modes to 90 to prevent this.
To minimize any inconvenience caused by smaller skill slots due to decreased maximum size,
we’ve changed the “Exclude on-screen controls” option to “Prioritize on-screen control UI size”,
allowing you to expand the skill slot area up to 100.
However, please note that if you activate this feature, the skill quickslot will increase in size, and to prevent overlap,
the maximum size for other UI elements will be limited to 80 or less.
Please note that if you do not use this feature, you can set both the controller area and other UI elements
up to a maximum of 90.
- Changed the maximum UI size that can be set due to skill slot improvements. (100 → 90)
ㆍ The maximum UI size for 10-Key Mode is 90, the same as 8-Key Mode.
- Added the Prioritize on-screen control UI size option.
ㆍEnable or disable this feature in-game under [Settings] - [Graphics].
ㆍWhen activated, the move and skill buttons will be fixed to the maximum size of 100.
ㆍThe size of all other UI elements, except for the move and skill buttons, will adjust according to your selected UI size value.

Character
Developer Commentary
This update brings changes to Forward Guard, Rear Super Armor, and Damage Reduction.
These effects were added to allow you to attack enemies with minimal damage when using core skills
so you can maintain your offense or turn the tide of battle more reliably, except in situations where you are grabbed.
However, since the skills that grant these effects differ by class,
we have changed the guard type for certain class skills that required balance adjustments.
Even after the update, we will continue to closely monitor

World Boss Damage Multiplier
Developer Commentary
The World Boss damage multiplier was introduced as the total number of classes increased,
to narrow the gap caused by differences in characteristics and styles among classes.
For example, Wizard, which has wide-area skills, excels in defeating multiple targets while hunting,
but tends to deal lower damage to a single target. This required some balance adjustments.
Previously, we only informed whether the change to Damage to World Bosses multiplier was a buff or a nerf.
However, we would like to provide more precise values so Adventurers can better understand the performance of each class.
The table below outlines the adjusted damage multiplier.
Please note that actual World Boss rankings may vary depending on skill types, combos, and individual playstyles.
We will continue to monitor the balance closely to prevent significant disparities between classes,
and any further adjustments will be shared along with the exact figures.
- Adjusted the Damage to World Bosses for each class.
- The Damage to World Bosses for each class is as follows.

Deadeye
Developer Commentary
Deadeye has demonstrated outstanding performance across various PvP content.
Hell's Spread is a skill with both Forward Guard and Rear Super Armor
that also deals significant damage, making it a skill with few weaknesses.
Doom N Gloom allows for both movement and attack at the same time,
enabling Deadeye to control distance from the enemy while delivering powerful damage.
In this update, we have adjusted the PvP damage of these two skills,
as they have shown to be relatively stronger compared to those of other classes.

Kunoichi
Developer Commentary
Kunoichi was previously able to enter Stealth by consuming just one Seal each time a skill was used,
allowing her to remain hidden and continue fighting in stealth.
With this update, We have adjusted the mechanics so that the Stealth is now applied
only after gaining 3 Seal stacks, to encourage more thoughtful decisions about when to hide during combat.

Art of the Ninja
- Removed Stealth from Level 1 and Level 2 Seal consumption effect.
Berserker
Developer Commentary

With these changes, Fletcher will be able to aim and attack targets more quickly,

Reaper
Developer Commentary
Reaper absorbs a portion of the target’s MP on skill hits. However, as the maximum MP value has increased,
the impact of this absorption on combat has relatively diminished.
To ensure Reaper performs as intended, we have changed it to absorb a certain percentage of the target’s maximum MP.
Additionally, We have improved the mobility of certain skills to address the difficulty of escaping after
quickly engaging enemies, and reduced the MP cost of key skills, improving skill combo efficiency and increasing the potential damage output.

Raven
Developer Commentary
Raven’s combat style revolves around swiftly moving among enemies and disrupting them with the Power of Darkness.
However, We felt that improvements to speed and damage were needed to allow them to break through enemy lines more effectively in line with this combat style.
In this update, we have improved mobility, made skill motions faster, and added new skill comboes

Fairy
Developer Commentary
We are adding the highly requested Fairy Skills Assignment feature for Adventurers.
Until now, Adventurers have had to manually equip Fairy Skills depending on the content,
such as the Great Desert or PvP.
To make this change more convenient and to ease the burden of Intellect consumption when equipping Fairy Skills,
We are introducing the Fairy Skills Assignment system.
You will be able to assign skills suited for various situations and freely switch between them according to the content,
with no cost to the Intellect when changing the Assignment or when equipping a Fairy Skill,
allowing Fairy Skills to be used more comfortably and without concern.
- Added Fairy Skills Assignment.
・ Three Assignments are available and can be used immediately without any expansion.
・ Change the Assignment by tapping the V button at the bottom after selecting another Assignment.

Knowledge Boost Season
Developer Commentary
The Knowledge Boost Season is beginning.
We have run several seasons and Season Passes to help new and returning Adventurers grow and understand the game
while experiencing a variety of content by progressing through main quests and essential stories.
While our goal has always been to introduce variety of gameplay available in the game,
some Adventurers have felt that the time required to complete a season was too long,
and certain growth elements, such as Knowledge, needed more time than the season could offer.
In the Knowledge Boost Season, We have streamlined the quest process to focus only on essential content,
allowing Adventurers to progress more quickly, and strengthened the growth of elements that require more time, such as Knowledge and Black Spirit Level.
Additionally, We have added the +8 Rift Totem Chest to the season completion rewards,
making it easier for Adventurers to overcome challenges of gear growth.
We hope that you will enjoy a more rewarding adventure and experience a greater sense of progression through the Knowledge Boost Season.
